Police Officer Selection Criteria


Education and Experience


  • Knowledge acquired through a minimum of sixty credit hours in an Associate or Baccalaureate educational program.

    (Bachelors degree in Criminal Justice or Public Administration or related field is desired).



Position Salary and Benefit Summary


  Salary


  • Salary Range is based on a five step/year progression to top salary.

 

Previously Certified Police Officers are provided a one step increase for every two years of full time certified police officer employment up to a top entry level placement to Step 4 upon their hire.

New Hampshire law requires municipal employees to enroll in New Hampshire's State Retirement System. Contribution levels are set by the Legislature, as required by actuarial studies.

Employees may defer additional salary through payroll deduction for investment in the ICMA Deferred Compensation Retirement Program.

Accrues according to a schedule based on years of service with the Town. Initially at a rate of one day per month).
